SSMSBoost v3.0 Beta (2008,2012,2014,2016)
We are happy to provide you with latest beta release. We finally managed to implement full support of commands/shortcuts in SSMS 2016 and have done a log of internal refactoring work. This is final beta, we will not be adding any new features till final release now, but will certainly do our best to fix all reported issues. Please read the changelog for this update and pay attention to features, that were changed. Thank all of you for the comments and reports, that you have sent us ! -Added full support for Shortcuts in SSMS 2016. Commands and Macros are now separated in settings. "Commands" page lists all SSMSBoost commands and assigned shortcuts. Shortcuts can be re-fedined here directly. "Macros" - separate page in Settings to create simple command combos and manage their shortcuts. -Added additional events for saving "Recent Tabs". See "Recent Tabs" settings. Improved management of Recent Tabs/Recent Sessions/Recent Connections management. -Increased of max length of autoreplacement strings. -Improved "Query complete" notification icon in system tray. Now dbl-click activates the query window, where the execution completed. -Added "close all" (result tabs) for "Find in Grid" and "Find in History" dialogs. ssms crashing
Hi, thank you for this report. We did not have any other reports of this behavior. Can you please check if the problem is still present with the latest beta, published on 9-th of February ? Please also update your SSMS to the last version, which was published about a week ago. Some "strange" behavior was reported by users, who were using Beta versions of SSMS and then upgraded it to final release, without completely uninstalling the beta. (Concerned Beta of SSMS 2016 in mid 2016). |

Feature Request: Export Settings
To copy ALL ssmsboost settings (also between different SSMS versions) you only need to copy the contents of this folder: C:\Users\YOURWINDOWSLOGINAppData\Local\Solutions Crew\Ssms2016 (or 2008/2012/2014). No worry about preferred connections with saved passwords: passwords are encrypred using native windows encryption, bound to your windows user login. If you copy settings to other machine/user that user will get all connections but will have to re-enter passwords. |

Feature request: custom tab names
I'd like to add to this request. The option of having the first line of the file become the title of the tab is a good one. Here are a couple of other ideas: - have the tab title field be editable - allow a user to highlight a word or string in the body of the file, right-click, and have an option like 'Use as tab title' Thanks, Emilio |

SSMSBoost v3.0 Beta (2008,2012,2014,2016)
This is very useful, but why did you not add this to this yellow "post-its" in the top right corner? But this is done already: you have this message in SSMS in the top right corner, if SSMS is active. Tray message appears when you switch to other application Quote:
You can customize message text in Settings / Query post-execution handlers. |

Unable to get machine key
Hi, I have been using ssmsBoost on Sql management studio 2012 for a long time, normally with the community license. I update with the latest version when required. For some reason I switched to trial license (I am not sure to have done it but the about form reports trial). Now the trial is expired, I would like to revert to community but in the "About / License" form the "Activate/Re-Activate", the "Migrate" and the "Copy hardware key" are greyed and I do not see any key to copy. How can I solve it? I didn't try reinstall from scratch to avoid messing up, I'll do that if advised to do so. My current version is build 3.0.6224.39731, date 15/1/2017 (Yesterday I tried to upgrade with the latest beta but the copy HW key is still grey). Regards Luca |
